Summative planning sheets for Units of Work.

An error on Year 5 Block C Unit 2 has been corrected. The objectives were incorrect. This was spotted recently as teachers started to plan for this unit. The information on MEWAN has been corrected. Please check you have the correct objectives for this unit.

These documents have recently been added to the Renewed Framework site. They emphasis the importance of using Models and Images to support the teaching of maths, along with examples of resources. (In Planning Information and Teaching Resources)

The End of Year Expectations have been re written to reflect the Renewed Framework. The end of year expectations (SEN) are the same, but with some additional objectives. Use the SEN end of year expectations to show progress with the one or two children, because of SEN issues, who are not  making normal progress .

Assessment material to support work with Springboard has been developed by the TA consultants. This material is available in the Teaching Assistants Area on MEWAN. Some has been reproduced in the maths area.

New proforma have been developed to support a scrutiny of work and planning, linked to the Renewed Framework.

New material is now available to support assessment when using Wave 3 materials, Springboard and Maths Recovery.

The Pupil Targets (I Can Statements) are now available in PLANNING and in ASSESSMENT. These may help you with pupil self assessment.

Version 3 of the Interactive Planning Tool is now available from the Renewed Framework Website.

Some documents to support the planning process for the Renewed Framework have now been posted in the planning area. Material to support the 1999 NNS framework have been move to the archive area.

Materials from day 5 of the 3+2 Renewed Framework Training are now available.

Notes to support the ICT resources within the Renewed Framework have now been added for all Unit 3s. These can be found for the appropriate year group alongside the ICT resources in the Blocks and Units area of Teaching Resources.

Have you considered using Maths Mats with your pupils. By changing the information you could customise the mat for individual children. Print onto card or paper and laminate. An example is available in miscellaneous resources area.

This facility has now been made active on the Renewed Framework Site. Notes and a demo on the use of the Planning Tool are included when you download the application to your computer. The Renewed Framework also provides an example medium and short term planning sheet for maths.

The documentation provided with the Interactive Planning Tool (IPT) is available in the Planning area.

The ICT resources from the Renewed Framework are now available through MEWAN. The resources are organised by type and by BLOCKS and UNITS. They are available in the Teaching Resources area.

 Power Point presentations and handouts from Day 3 of the training are now available.

 

 

As a result of discussions at a recent Subject Leader training session, teachers might find the following information useful in support of their teaching of the properties of shape. The document is available through: teaching resources/misc resources.

POLYGONS

 

Training for Numeracy Subject Leaders is now taking place. The training consists of 3 days out of school and 2 days in school. A contribution towards supply cover has been paid into school budgets.Day 1 of the training took place in January, Day 3 is in February and Day 5 in June. The Power point presentation and Handouts from Day 1 are available via the Renewed Framework link on this site.

 

 

To support the implementation of the renewed framework for mathematics, all subject leaders will have access to training. There will be 5 days of training. 3 days will take place out of school, and the other 2 days will be used to carry out  tasks in school. The training courses will start with day 1 in January 2007, and with day 5 taking place in June 2007. Details of the training have been sent out to schools.
